Focus and Scope
The Canadian Review of Policing Research (CRPR) is an all-new, annual publication established to serve Canada's policing community, including academics, researchers, and policy-makers interested in Canadian law-enforcement issues. It has been created in response to a widely recognized need for an authoritative, Canadian publication that can communicate and inform these groups about recent academic and applied-policing research developments in Canada. The Review will feature well-written summaries of recently published Canadian policing research projects, reports, and articles. It will also solicit selected state-of-the-art research reviews from Canadian policing experts on topics of special interest.
The CRPR is the culmination of work by representatives from Henson College at Dalhousie University, Athabasca University's Criminal Justice program, and the Canadian Police College. Each of these organizations offers a wealth of professional insight and expertise on policing. Thanks to their contributions, the Canadian Review of Policing Research offers an exclusive forum in which to share and exchange knowledge, approaches, and professional insights about policing research with - and among - interested subscribers.
Committed to the highest standards of scholarship, the Canadian Review of Policing Research aims to become the authoritative source of research-based information and ideas about Canadian policing. For police services, the Review will provide up-to-date information on recent Canadian police research, and an outlet to publicize their own research efforts. It promises to be of great interest to all individuals and groups who have an interest in Canadian policing services. University researchers and instructors will find it to be an indispensable reference and teaching tool. Public libraries will also find that the Review can serve as a popular reference source for citizens who are interested in criminal justice and policing issues. All of these groups are invited to subscribe today and become part of what promises to be a useful publication that is destined to make an important contribution to developing policing research in Canada.
